Jens is a self-taught, far-travelled photographer from Germany, who seeks to capture the essence of this world in every picture he takes. Whether a beautiful landscape or a begging child on the road, it is the true image of this world condensed in a single picture what he is after. Born in 1981, lens lived during his early childhood in Germany and Indonesia. Later his parents took him around Europe, to Canada and the US. After finishing grammar school he went to Australia to study English. Upon his return to Germany, he began to pursue a
degree in Iaw atthe University of Heidelberg. He graduated in early 2008 and now works at the Institute for Private International Law (lnstitut für ausländisches und internationales Privat- und Wirtschaftsrecht) in Heidelberg where he also researches his doctoral thesis on sovereign debt restructuring.
In 2004 lens set out to explore South Asia. As an exchange student at the University of Delhi he learned about Indian Iaw while using his free time to capture the beauty, the ugliness, the madness and heartening friendliness of India in some of his best pictures till today.
Jens’ photographs have been published in a wide range of media induding the print and online edition of TIME Magazine, GEO Magazine and many others.
